Julia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and Licensed Masters Level Alcohol & Drug Counselor (MLADC) and has been working in the field of Mental Health & Addiction Treatment since 2005. Julia earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from Springfield College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston University. Julia has spent her career working in outpatient settings with clients ranging from adolescents to adults. In 2018 Julia opened a private practice, Journey Counseling Services, PLLC, in Hooksett where she serves clients who struggle with mental health and or substance use challenges. Julia continues learning and growing by acquiring advanced tools necessary in supporting the clients she serves. She recently trained to become an Accelerated Resolution Therapy “ART” provider and continues advancing these skills. Julia also provides the Global Appraisal of Individual Needs (GAIN) evaluations which is recognized as the assessment of choice by the Federal and State Court System, Probation Departments, and both inpatient and outpatient treatment providers. Julia has many years of experience in applying Evidence Based Practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Stages of Change, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Narrative Therapy (NT) that are applied through a client centered and trauma informed approach. Julia has also been a member of NAADAC since 2009. Julia’s goals over the next several years is to become more active in advocating to advance the addiction profession at the State and Federal levels by becoming more involved in NHADACA.
