July 11, 2023 9am–1:15pm

July 13, 2023 9am-12:15pm

PRESENTATION: This training provides learners with an introduction to Motivational interviewing and focuses on the spirit, techniques and key principles of holding a Motivational Interviewing conversation. This training is highly experiential, and learners will participate in exercises designed to illustrate the concepts described and will be given the opportunity to discuss their experience of those exercises. As a result of this training participants will:

  • Learn the fundamentals of Motivational Interviewing
  • Learn techniques to convey empathetic understanding and compassion
  • Explore ways of integrating Motivational Interviewing theories into other treatment approaches.
  • Practice Motivational Interviewing on “challenging” clients through role playing and discussion.
