A 6-hour training with Joseph Zannella, MA, LADC

December 9, 2022

8:30am–4:00pm

PRESENTATION: Opioid use has changes dramatically in the past few years with prescription abuse and availability driving a wave of new addictions in individuals who would not have been previously vulnerable. High potency man-made opiates such as Fentanyl and Carfentanyl are increasingly available and astonishingly dangerous. This training is designed to address clients with mental health diagnoses and that are using Opioids.  The course content is intended to advance your understanding of diagnosing and treatment, and what specific problems and issues arise from multiple diagnoses and miss-diagnosis. Examples of diagnostic tools will be covered, as well as aftercare issues and ideas for improving outcomes. Participants will:

  • Learn how to identify and differentiate several overlapping diagnoses in general, and specifically to the opioid using population.
  • Gain an understanding of how Multiple Diagnoses complicates Recovery.
  • Review several aftercare models that improve outcomes and reduce relapse.
  • Gain techniques on how to reduce resistance in individuals with multiple diagnoses.
