A 12-Hour Training with Danielle Moreggi, Ph.D.

October 6th & 7th, 2022

8:30am–4:00pm (daily)

PRESENTATION: Understanding the impact of trauma is complex and can be challenging to even the most seasoned clinician.  Trauma is often an underlying factor related to many co-occurring disorders and the proper diagnosis and treatment of these complex conditions are essential for providing effective care for our clients. This course will include a review of the clinical and diagnostic factors related to trauma and how an informed approach to diagnostic assessment can influence the treatment of specific trauma populations such as, veterans, survivors of abuse and rape, addiction, and other emotional and physical conditions.  Clinicians can often feel overwhelmed by finding successful interventions when treating trauma related disorders and addiction.  The variance of specific types of trauma survival and drug of choice can also impact symptomology effecting our approach to treatment. This two-day course will provide participants with a wealth of information and the opportunity to learn various strategies to effectively integrate trauma specific factors as well as factors related to drug use and drug of choice into their work with clients that promotes safety, resilience, and empowerment. Participants will:

  • Learn how to clearly recognize the diagnostics of a trauma history for specific populations in an initial assessment.
  • Understand the various ways that trauma symptomology can confound the symptoms of other co-occurring disorders
  • Be able to identify the clinical factors of trauma that are uniquely related to men, women, and drug of choice within the diverse population of PTSD.
  • Review EBT and pharmacological interventions when treating trauma related disorders.
  • Learn ways to empower individuals by helping them identify their own unique treatment goals through an individualized trauma-informed approach to treatment
