A 3 hour training event with Angela Thomas Jones, LCMHC, MLADC, LCS, CCFP, RYT
8:45am– 12:00pm on May 26, 2020
This training has been changed to remote only!
PRESENTATION: Provider resilience has gained national attention. The impact of stress on productivity, quality care, and patient safety has been validated by mounting evidence-based research. However, pressure to meet treatment demands during workforce shortage contributes to “do more with less” expectations and can lead to clinician burn-out, high staff turnover, reduced quality care, and increased risk to our ethical responsibility to “do no harm”. 96% of respondents to a recent NH SUD treatment provider needs survey meet at risk criteria for compassion fatigue and 70.59% of those respondents are concerned patient safety is compromised due to workforce shortage. It is time for change. Clinician self-care is an ethical responsibility. Participants will learn evidence-informed practice effective at increasing resilience to sustain these challenges and gain access to current resources and case studies of how our colleagues from around the country are implementing positive changes in workplace culture to turn the tide on this burn-out equation. As a result of attending this training, participants will be able to:
-
Perform HomeBase, an evidence informed somatic practice as a resilience booster
-
Identify 7 basic body wisdom principles essential to sustainable resilience
-
Outline ethical principles for provider wellness & self-care
-
Understand the neurological & anatomical mechanisms that define resilience
